MTA police are investigating what a man was doing on the train tracks at the Hicksville LIRR station Tuesday morning when he was hit by a train.
The man was rushed to the hospital after being pulled from the tracks at around 7:10 a.m. His condition is unknown.
An LIRR spokesman says the victim was a 50-year-old man who had been standing on the platform. He doesn't know how or why the man ended up on the tracks. A westbound train from Huntington was slowing down to stop at Hicksville when it hit the man, according to the LIRR.
