Long Island Rail Road riders are dealing with long commutes tonight, after a person was struck by a train near the Woodside station shortly before 5 pm.
At least two trains were canceled during the evening rush. Nearly every LIRR branch is experiencing delays of 10 to 25 minutes.
According to an MTA spokesperson, the victim in Woodside was not authorized to be on the tracks. An investigation into the incident is underway.
