LIRR eyes plan to install cameras at crossing gates

The Long Island Rail Road says it has plans to install cameras at crossing gates.  The move will happen as the railroad performs upgrades on various lines.  News 12 Long Island has learned the LIRR

The Long Island Rail Road says it has plans to install cameras at crossing gates. 
The move will happen as the railroad performs upgrades on various lines. 
News 12 Long Island has learned the LIRR can't legally ticket anyone, but it can send warning letters. 
The LIRR committee talked about the Metro-North crash that killed an SUV driver on the track and five others on the train. 
There were numerous accidents on Long Island Rail Road tracks last year.
