LIRR officials say a train crash caused a derailment in Speonk early Saturday morning, halting rail service to the East End as the busy Memorial Day weekend gets underway.
The railroad says there was a slow-speed crash between a work train and a passenger train, causing both trains to partially derail. It happened as part of a passing maneuver, the railroad says.
Officials say 30 people were on board at the time, but there were no injuries.
Crews were also dealing with a fuel leak.

Buses will replace trains between Patchogue and Hampton Bays and an LIRR shuttle train is providing service between Hampton Bays and Montauk.
The LIRR says it anticipates running service in three segments through Sunday, both east and westbound: a train between Penn Station and Patchogue, a bus bridge between Patchogue and Hampton Bays and a shuttle train between Hampton Bays and Montauk. The shuttle trains will await the arrival of the buses.
Riders heading to the Hamptons or Montauk were being advised to consider alternate branches or alternate means of transportation to avoid transfers.
