One of the LIRR's busiest stations is getting a facelift for the first time in six decades.
Work is underway at the Babylon station to renovate the over 150-year-old station - with two new platforms, updated elevators, lighting, waiting areas and more.
The MTA says the project is estimated to cost $82 million, and is part of their current capital plan.
One platform will be closed through May of next year - and work on the second platform will begin next September.
The project is expected to be completed by May 2026.
