LIPA approves reimbursement plan for customers who lose power
Long Island Power Authority's board approved a new plan to provide a $25 per day credit to customers who lose power for three days or more.
At least 20,000 ratepayers will need to be affected.
Customers will also be able to seek money for spoiled food and medication.
However, the payments would not be made if it's deemed the outage is beyond PSEG Long Island's reasonable control.
