Nurses with Long Island Jewish-Valley Stream Hospital have reached a tentative agreement with Northwell Health ahead of their Feb. 21 strike deadline.
This comes after 99.5% of nurses voted to authorize strikes at LIJ-Valley Stream and Peconic Bay Medical Center. Nurses at Peconic Bay Medical Center had previously reached a contract agreement late last week.
The nurse's union says the agreement will include improvements to safe staffing standards, protection of New York State Nurse Association (NYSNA) health and pension benefits as well as wage increases.
