Long Islanders that plan to use the Long Island Rail Road this weekend may have a major headache. The LIRR will be finishing a construction project, which will shut down trains between Jamaica and Mineola. Buses will be provided to accommodate the service disruptions. The only branches that will not be disrupted are Babylon, Far Rockaway, Long Beach, Montauk, Port Washington and West Hempstead. The LIRR says the project will allow trains to move faster. For those attending the Mets game at Shea Stadium Friday, the last train that will not be affected will be the 11:06 p.m. train from Shea Stadium.
