As the nation marks the fourth anniversary of the war in Iraq, many Long Islanders still have mixed feelings about the war. As lawmakers in Washington D.C. battle over how to proceed in Iraq, opposition to the conflict is growing here at home. Peaceful demonstrations were held in Huntington and at the Roosevelt Field Mall Monday. Some Long Islanders feel the government must stay the course. Phil Skaw, of East Norwich, says it is necessary to stay in Iraq in order to keep the U.S. foothold in the world.
