Today marks the 74th anniversary of the Pearl Harbor attack. 
On December 7, 1941 more than 2,000 Americans were killed when Japan launched a sneak attack that plunged us in to World War II. 
A Massapequa Park native says that horrible day motivated him to register for the draft in 1944 when he turned 18.
Commemorative events will be held across Long Island, the nation and at the site of the attack in Hawaii.
