Long Islanders hit the pavement Saturday morning to remember those who lost their lives to terrorism and those fighting against it. About 300 people took part in the 5K run at Blydenburgh Park. A rally was held before the run began.The event was organized by New York's Fighting 69th Battalion.Soldiers stationed in Afghanistan also staged their own version of the run.
