Long Island voters are heading to the polls to cast their ballots in primary races across the area.
Among the most closely watched races is the race between Acting Nassau DA Madeline Singas and former Manhattan prosecutor Michael Scotto. Both hope to run on the Democratic line for Nassau District Attorney.
In addition, there's a Republican primary for mayor of Glen Cove involving incumbent Reginald Spinello against City Council member Anthony Gallo Jr.
In Riverhead, Republicans nominated Councilwoman Jodi Giglio for town supervisor instead of the current supervisor Sean Walter. Walter launched a primary bid to keep his seat.
Meanwhile in Islip, Democrats will decide if they want former Suffolk Legislator Ricardo Montano or Thomas Licari to run on the Democratic line against Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter.
