Long Island residents joined voters across the state for the primaries Tuesday to decide whether Nassau County?s executive will represent his party in the race for governor.
Voter turnout was low before noon, however, that may change as voters get out of work. Nassau County Executive Tom Suozzi is taking on Attorney General Eliot Spitzer in the Democratic primary for governor. Suozzi, who is trailing in the polls, cast his ballot in Glen Cove.
Voters were also deciding on two other statewide races. Andrew Cuomo, Mark Green and Sean Patrick Maloney are all vying for the Democratic nomination for attorney general. Jon Tasini is hoping his anti-war platform will be enough to beat incumbent U.S. Senator Hillary Clinton (D-NY) in the primary.Click
