Long Islanders are feeling the pinch at the pump again as gas prices went up 4 cents Thursday.
According to AAA, a gallon of regular gas on Long Island was at $2.67 on average Thursday morning, then jumped to $2.68 a few hours later. AAA says the price on Wednesday was $2.64. Experts blame the price hike on lower-than-expected inventories of crude oil.
Drivers on Long Island say they?ve just about had it with high gas prices. Some say they don?t even bother filling up anymore, and instead fuel up with only a certain amount of money to get to where they need to go.
Experts say gas prices are expected to hit the $3 mark again by the summer.
