Applebee's restaurants across Long Island are supporting local schools. News 12 Long Island's Elizabeth Hashagen visited the Farmingdale restaurant.
The chain just kicked off its teacher essay contest - students can pick up an application at the 21 participating restaurants and write about why their teacher is the best.
Applebee's also has an all-you-can-eat riblets and chicken tenders promotion for $12.99.
