Hermine's impact was felt across Long Island Monday and Tuesday, but forecasters say the worst is over.

Swimming remains prohibited at Jones Beach, Robert Moses and Hither Hills in Montauk as the storm still churns rough surf off the East Coast.

News 12 Long Island meteorologist Bill Korbel says winds on Long Island maxed out around 55 mph on the East End Monday night. He says some rain showers are expected Tuesday night and Wednesday before warming up for the end of the week.
