A Long Island man has been identified as one of 13 accused of insurance fraud.
Police say FDNY paramedic Jose Solis, of Valley Stream, defrauded AFLAC out of more than $27,000.
Prosecutors say Solis and more than a dozen FDNY and NYPD employees forged doctors or supervisors signatures to file false insurance claims.
It cost AFLAC more than $500,000.
