A young singer who used to work at a Long Island pizzeria has moved one step closer to winning "America's Got Talent."
Sal Valentinetti, of Bethpage, has crooned his way into the finals, even winning over judge Simon Cowell - who is known for his harsh criticism.
The 20-year-old performed a rousing version of "That's Life" on the NBC show earlier this week.
"He was always that kid running into walls to get people to laugh," said Steve Giangrade, his former employer at Da'Angelo Pizzeria. "To see him mature and take his talent so seriously, it's amazing to watch."
Valentinetti's final performance will be on Sept. 13. Da'Angelo's will surely be packed with his fans cheering him on.
