A Bay Shore woman, her boyfriend and mother were arrested Wednesday, accused of abusing two children and neglecting a third.
Police and Child Protective Services say they were acting on a tip when they went to the home of Tara Graham and Alicia Graham. Once there, officers say they found a 20-month-old baby boy unattended and covered in filth and human waste. Police arrested the child?s grandmother, Tara Graham, who was home at the time.
Officers then located the child?s mother, 23-year-old Alicia Graham, who was with her boyfriend Hector Tricoche inside their car at a nearby gas station. They say Trichoche's two nieces, in the car with the couple, were also abused.
?In the car they discovered a bruised and battered 6-year-old girl,? Suffolk Deputy Inspector Robert Oswald says. ?While attending to the girl they came upon a 13-month-old baby girl wrapped in a blanket and concealed in debris in the vehicle. The baby was beaten, lethargic and badly in need of medical attention.?
All three face charges of endangering the welfare of a child. Alicia Graham faces two additional charges of second-degree assault. Tara Graham is also charged with obstructing governmental administration and resisting arrest.
The two girls were taken to Good Samaritan Hospital for bruises and broken bones. The baby boy was treated and released and is under the care of Child Protective Services.
