Best-selling, Long Island author Nelson DeMille has released his 20th book.
DeMille has added a new book to his long legacy of fast-paced action thrillers that intertwine fictional characters with historical facts.
The book is called "The Cuban Affair" and introduces readers to a 35-year-old U.S. Army veteran who becomes entangled in a covert mission to Cuba.
"If you like action, romance, sex and chase and escape you will love this book," says DeMille.
DeMille, who is known for historically accurate descriptions of places and events, spent several weeks in Cuba before writing the book.
"I took some notes, visited a lot of bars, did some research and came home and wrote ‘The Cuban Affair,’" says DeMille.
DeMille says besides adventure and thrills, he hopes “The Cuban Affair” will give readers a glimpse of the issues facing Cuba.
"In this book, you can see the hope of the Cuban people but also the despair of the Cuban people," he says.
