Suffolk's county executive is calling on the MTA to take over Suffolk Transit. Steve Levy will be lobbying in Albany Monday for Long Island Bus to take over the county's bus system. Levy says he hopes the MTA could then add more routes and also establish Sunday bus service.The county executive says the MTA should use $26 million from its bailout plan's payroll tax for the takeover. Levy claims the bailout is costing Suffolk County government more than $3 million.
