Police arrested a man Tuesday they say posed as a Nassau County cop, kidnapped a woman and held her for hours.
Investigators say Christopher Mackrodt, 39, pulled over a Yellow Cab Company taxi in Levittown, ordered the passenger into his own car and drove her around for three hours. They say he was drunk when he picked up the Farmingdale woman.
Mackrodt, of Levittown, later dropped the victim off at the cab company. Police say he identified himself as a policeman to the taxi dispatcher and instructed him to give the woman a ride home.
During the incident, Mackrodt was carrying handcuffs, a BB gun and was wearing a Nassau County Police Department T-shirt, police say. He is charged with kidnapping, criminal impersonation and DWI.
