First Deputy Police Commissioner Kevin Catalina has been nominated for the role of Suffolk County police commissioner by Suffolk County Executive Ed Romaine.
Catalina spent 27 years with the NYPD. He also worked in the Suffolk County Sheriff's Office.
Catalina appeared in front of the County Legislature's Public Safety Committee.
The full legislature will vote on his nomination on Tuesday.
