A New Cassel woman who drowned her three young children wants a cut of the cash from a wrongful death settlement.

Leatrice Brewer is seeking a portion of the $350,000 that was awarded to her husband after he sued Nassau County. He was awarded the funds based on his claim that caseworkers could have done more to prevent the deaths of his children.

A judge will hear the case and determine whether Brewer can collect the money. She admitted to the crime, but was found not guilty by reason of insanity.
