It's a very special birthday for babies born on Feb. 29 since it only comes around once every four years.
Mia Fay Bates was born on Saturday at Northwell Health's Katz Women's Hospital in Queens, weighing in at 8 pounds, 13 ounces.
Her parents had a challenging decision to make for Mia besides what name to give her.
"We had to really discuss what day we're going to celebrate the other birthdays,” said Justin Bates. “I'm just happy that she's OK and obviously, she's a little unique.”
When it’s not a leap year, Mia’s birthday will be celebrated on March 1.
