L&B Spumoni Gardens opened its second location in Dumbo just over a week ago.
With historic photos decorating the walls with a mix of a more modern feel, guests can still enjoy the iconic pizza and spumoni.
News 12 spoke with residents like Yusef Alsuhaimi, who have been to the original Bensonhurst location and are excited to grab a bite a little closer.
“I have been a few times with friends and have loved it, so it’s nice to have a place that’s more accessible," said Alsuhaimi.
News 12 also spoke with people like Nelson Medina, who came all the way from Florida just to try a slice.
General manager Charlie Cavallo says they originally announced the opening around five years ago. He says issues like COVID and building permits delayed the process.
It's the first location that has opened since the original Bensonhurst owner Louis Barbati was murdered in 2016. Cavallo says Barbati would have been proud to see this location open.
“Lou Lou would have been really really happy to see this open up. He was part of the idea from the beginning with the rest of the family, he would have loved to see this happen," said Cavallo.
