A group of Long Island seniors has won the Wii Bowling National Senior Championship.
Four seniors from Bristal Assisted Living in Lake Grove won the national championship against Lakeland, Florida with a 1,645-1,550 victory.
And these seniors love a good competition. Two
teammates happen to be married.
"I don't know if he really wants to see me
win or if I'm the one who wants to see him win - but when we win,
we always feel good for each other," said 87-year-old Louise
Mangieri.
Other seniors and staff members came out to cheer
the team on.
One member of the team says the activity gave him
something to look forward to during the pandemic.
"It's been a really trying time for
everyone. We didn't quit as a team, we have great leadership in the
building," said 62-year-old Nick Montanino.
The competition began with 109 teams and these
seniors are the last to compete in their division.
