A newborn baby from Lake Grove is fighting for his life after a circumcision that went wrong, according to the infant's family.
Cole Groth nearly bled to death last week in the cardiac neonatal intensive care unit at Columbia Hospital.
It happened a few hours after the procedure.
Cole's father, Tim Groth, told News 12 his son was born with a heart defect and says the hospital didn't warn them of the possible impact of the surgery.
"People need to be educated about the risks and the benefits and the complications of procedures, and not all of a sudden be the victim of a tragedy and have no idea that was possible because I think people would make different decisions," Groth said.
A GoFundMe page has been set up for donations to help Cole in his recovery.
