Police are asking for the public's help in apprehending a knife-wielding robber in Nassau County.
Police say a man has robbed three businesses in Valley Stream and a gas station in North Woodmere over the past six weeks.
In each case, the man had his face covered and wielded a large kitchen knife, authorities say. In at least one of the robberies, the suspect got away in a White Hyundai with yellow New York plates.
During the North Woodmere robbery on Feb. 9, the man demanded cash and fled with the entire cash register drawer. He then returned to steal cigarettes. No one was hurt during the robbery.
Police say these robberies are not connected to the spate of gas station robberies throughout Nassau County.
Anyone with information about the robberies is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
