Students and staff at Kings Park High School hosted a surprise retirement party for a longtime Long Island educator.
Neil Lederer has been a principal and superintendent in 10 districts throughout Nassau and Suffolk counties throughout his career.
Lederer stepped in as an interim principal at Kings Park High School last year and stayed on the job for an extra year afterward.
"Coming here to Kings Park was the best move of my career because I got to work with you guys with this incredible facility and staff and you made me feel wanted and you made me feel like I was contributing and I hope I helped," Lederer told the students and staff who surprised him.
