The King Kullen in Hewlett is scheduled to close late next month after 45 years in operation.

The store at 1765 Peninsula Blvd. will officially close on May 21.

"The decision to close was made after lease options expired and we were unable to reach favorable lease renewal terms. King Kullen is honored to have served the Hewlett community for 45 years,” a spokesperson for King Kullen said in a statement.

All employees will be offered roles at other stores.

After the store closure, there will be 24 King Kullen locations and four Wild by Nature stores across Long Island.
