A Deer Park dog training facility says it has made safety changes after a 5-month-old puppy allegedly died in their care.

A Bellmore couple says a broken pipe at K-9 Mania sent cold water into their dog's cage for five hours overnight. The pet's body eventually went into a deadly state of shock.

K-9 Mania tells News 12 that it had two employees to monitor cameras overnight.

News 12 is also told that flood and motion sensors have also been added.

A dual-verification process that includes confirming water valves has also been turned off.
