Jurors in the murder trial against a man accused of driving the wrong way down Meadowbrook Parkway while drunk have been sequestered.
The jury handed in a note around 11 a.m. Monday saying they couldn?t come up with an agreement. They have been deliberating since last Wednesday. After they failed to reach a verdict, the judge ordered them to stay overnight at a hotel.
Twenty-five-year-old Martin Heidgen, of Valley Stream, is charged with murder, manslaughter and criminally negligent homicide for the crash that killed a limo driver and a 7-year-old flower girl in July 2005.
During deliberations, the jury twice has asked for a reading on the definition of second-degree murder and manslaughter.
