Jurors in the trial of Joshua Roston deliberated all day Thursday without coming to a verdict.
Roston is accused of murder in the death of Pit Stop Gas Station manager Cemal “John” Dagdeviren, whom he ran over in January 2019 in South Hempstead.
Roston, who took the stand in his own defense, doesn’t deny running Dagdeviren over, but his attorney told News 12 it was not an intentional act.
The incident was caught on video.
Prosecutors said Roston had been trying to steal $22 worth of gas when he ran the 59-year-old victim over.
Roston then fled the scene and turned himself into authorities several days later in Pennsylvania. Jurors will continue to deliberate Friday morning.
