Nassau County has won its fight against the MTA's payroll tax, as a state judge today ruled it unconstitutional. Nassau, Suffolk and several other municipalities had been trying to get the tax struck down. The judge ruled it changed the tax policies of individual municipalities for a purpose that did not benefit the entire state. County Executive Ed Mangano (R-Nassau) is calling it a victory for all taxpayers.The MTA has vowed to appeal the ruling.Read the judge's full decision here.
