A Nassau judge issued a temporary restraining order for residents of a Syosset mobile home, meaning no more evictions will take place until at least after the new year.
As News 12 has reported, STP Associates - the landlord of the Mobile Home Park on Jericho Turnpike - obtained a warrant in January 2013 to clear out the park for redevelopment.
Residents of the park were hoping the judge would rule against the evictions in court Thursday, but the decision only keeps them in their home until after the holidays.
"At least I can tell my kids that we can finish decorating the Christmas tree and that Santa Claus will know where to find us," said Dawn St. Clair. "But it's still heartbreaking that come Jan. 11, I have nowhere to put them."
An attorney for the landlord did not return a call from News 12 to comment.
