Martin Tankleff learned Monday that he'll have to wait four more months to find out if he'll be retried for the murder of his parents.
A judge granted the state Attorney General's Office the extra time so it can gather evidence. A special prosecutor working on the case said the state is looking into whether other people were involved in the murder. He said the matter is before a grand jury.
Tankleff's attorneys said clearing their client's name is their top priority.
"Our case first and foremost is to get the case against Marty dismissed," said defense attorney Bruce Barket. "Once that happens what they do is up to the Attorney General's Office."
Tankleff is due back in court June 16.
