A judge has denied a request to overturn the guilty verdict in the death of anti-gang activist Evelyn Rodriguez.
Rodriguez was the mother of Kayla Cuevas, the teen allegedly killed by members of MS-13.
In 2018, prosecutors say Ann Marie Drago killed Rodriguez when she hit her with her car following a confrontation about a memorial for Kayla near Drago's mother's house.
Drago was found guilty of negligent homicide in March.
On Thursday, the judge denied Drago's lawyer's request to overturn the guilty verdict.
Drago is scheduled to be sentenced on Dec. 18.
