A civil lawsuit filed by the family of Blue Point native Gabby Petito will proceed in a Florida court.
This comes as a judge denied a request made by an attorney for Brian Laundrie's parents to skip trial.
The civil lawsuit alleges that Laundrie's parents knew that Petito was dead when they issued a statement hoping for her return.
At the time of that statement, law enforcement was investigating Petito's disappearance as a missing persons case.
