Juan Mendez-DePaz accused of trying to rob Riverside McDonald's in costume

Police say a Flanders man is accused of showing up at McDonald's in a Halloween costume and attempting to rob the restaurant. Southampton Town Police say Juan Mendez-DePaz walked up to the drive-thru

Police say a Flanders man is accused of showing up at McDonald's in a Halloween costume and attempting to rob the restaurant.

Southampton Town Police say Juan Mendez-DePaz walked up to the drive-thru window of the Riverside McDonald's on Route 24 Sunday.

According to police, Mendez-DePaz told the worker he had two guns in his western-style vest.

Cops say Mendez-DePaz demanded money and hamburgers and then pulled out a knife.



Police tell us the Flanders man was still wearing his black cowboy hat when they arrested him shortly after.
