A Westfield teenager is helping families through food insecurity.

Caroline Sahm is an eighth grader who launched Westfield Seeds of Change, a community initiative dedicated to growing and donating fresh produce to the St. James Food Pantry in Woodbridge.

The concept is simple: Caroline provides the seeds, community members grow the plants and the harvested fruits and vegetables are donated to help families in need.

The organization also accepts produce donations from local home gardens, ensuring even more fresh food reaches the pantry.

This began as a student-led project but is now combating food insecurity while bringing neighbors together.
