The Town of Oyster Bay Building Department deemed a home in Jericho unsafe after a teenage driver slammed her Tesla into the building late last night. Nassau County police said the crash happened on Onondaga Place at the intersection of Orange Drive around 9:40 p.m. Officials said the 17-year-old girl was behind the wheel of the 2025 Tesla driving west on Orange Drive when the car left the roadway and struck the home. Investigators have not said what led up to the crash or if speed played a factor. Video shows firefighters pulling the car with its airbags deployed from the home and inspecting the damage left behind. The home sits in a small part of the neighborhood south of the Long Island Expressway and north of the Northern State Parkway, around the corner from Cantiague Elementary School. The driver suffered a minor injury but refused medical attention at the scene, according to police. Two people were home when the crash happened but were uninjured.
