Police have arrested a suspect in a rash of home invasions on City Island.
Angelo Bello says he thought a group of people broke into his home Labor Day weekend while he and his family were out. Police now say that it was just one man, Jakwon Ramos, of the Bronx.
Bello says that after the suspect couldn't get in through the first floor, he used a ladder he had on the side of the house to access the second-floor window. The homeowner says the air conditioner from that window fell to the ground, and he believes the noise that it made scared the suspect away.
Nothing was stolen from Bello's home, but he says his family still feels frightened.
Police say Ramos broke into three other homes and stole jewelry, laptops and cash.
