Jake's 58 casino joined with advocacy groups Thursday to discuss ways they are combatting problem gambling on Long Island.

Representatives from the Long Island Problem Gambling Resource Center and the Family and Children's Association were on hand, promoting resources available for those who think they may have a problem.

Jake's 58 allows people to self-exclude themselves from the casino if they feel it's necessary. They are added to a list and refused entry to the casino in the future, identified by facial recognition technology at the casino's entry.

They say close to 1,000 patrons have put their names on that list since the casino opened in 2017.
