On most days, Jack Miller - otherwise known as Beef - is stocking frozen food at the King Kullen in Massapequa.
But for the past few days, he has been the caddie to Jazz Janewattananond, who is tied for second entering the final round of the PGA Championship at Bethpage Black.
Miller, 63, the frozen food manager at the market, has been a part-time caddie at Bethpage State Park since 2009 and was called to action when Jazz needed a caddy.
“I was taken aback,” he told News 12. “I wasn't sure, but I couldn't pass it up.”
“It may be part of the reason why New York loves me. It must be the caddie,” Jazz says.
Jazz and Jack had themselves a great round Saturday. He bagged a birdie on 18 to get to 5-under.
“He did great, I couldn't do it in front of these crowds, I'm glad I'm not hitting the ball,” says Miller.
