It’s Groundhog Day! What do Holtsville Hal and Malverne Mel predict?
Neither snow nor rain nor global pandemic can stop some furry forecasters – it’s Groundhog Day.
Malverne Mel did not see his shadow at Church Street in Malverne this morning.
Meanwhile, Holtsville Hal's event was canceled this year due to weather. However, he reported no sign of his shadow, meaning an early start to spring, according to Brookhaven Highway Superintendent Dan Losquadro.
However, Punxsutawney Phil predicted six more weeks of winter.
