Travis Austin, a 31-year-old from Islip, was sentenced to 12 years in prison for his role in a narcotics and illegal firearms trafficking ring, Suffolk County District Attorney Tierney announced.

Austin pleaded guilty in Aug. 2025 to multiple felony charges after an investigation revealed that between June and Sept. 2024, he carried out large sales of fentanyl, cocaine, and illegal guns across Suffolk County.

Police arrested Austin on Oct. 1, 2024, in the parking lot of a Starbucks in Islandia, where he had arranged the sale of five firearms. Officers recovered five unserialized handguns with 3D‑printed parts, fentanyl, cocaine, and several cellphones from his vehicle. A search of his storage unit uncovered kilo presses and other drug‑distribution paraphernalia.

Austin ultimately pleaded guilty to numerous drug and weapons charges, including Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the First Degree and Criminal Sale of a Firearm in the Third Degree. He was sentenced on Jan. 20, 2026.
