The New York Islanders introduced their two new owners at the Nassau Coliseum Wednesday, though they will not have full control over the team for two more years.
Scott Malkin and Jon Ledecky paid nearly $500 million for the team, though they will remain minority owners under Charles Wang until 2016. Malkin is a financial investor who played hockey when he was younger, while Ledecky is former co-owner of the Washington Capitals and the NBA's Washington Wizards.
Ledecky says he and Malkin will work hard for the fans. Wang, who has owned the Islanders since 2000, says he is confident in the two new owners.
