Both candidates in the Nassau County District Attorney race made last-minute appeals to voters Monday, a day before Election Day.
Polls appear to show candidates in a virtual dead heat, so they have been campaigning to get more voters to show up for the election. Voter turnout Tuesday is expected to be very low, according to political analysts.
The latest News 12-Newsday-Siena College poll shows Republican Kate Murray edging out Democrat Madeline Singas by one point -- 46 percent to 45 percent.
Hofstra university political analyst Larry Levy says that the race will likely come down to voter turnout.
While the DA race has gotten a lot of attention within political circles, experts say that doesn't necessarily translate into a lot of attention among average residents.
