The community of Long Beach kept a close eye on Isaias as it caused big waves on its empty beaches, with some even coming out to the boardwalk to watch it all unfold.
Howling winds hit the shore Tuesday afternoon, churning up the ocean and causing waves to crash into the beach.
Outside the immediate coastline, damage in the form of downed trees and power lines were also seen around Long Beach.
People came out to the Long Beach boardwalk to look on as the storm came ashore -- but the strong winds made it tough for some to keep their footing at times.
The storm's powerful winds also ripped the roof right off Beach Terrace Care Center on West Broadway. Residents say the roofing material from the third floor started peeling off last night.
